Wall Graphics to make your Space Amazing

SCG approached us to help deliver a brand refresh across their Nottingham office following their recent acquisition of NT Voice and Data. As part of the transition, they wanted to update the space with their new branding and values, creating an environment that better reflected the business and its identity moving forward.

With the designs already signed off and ready to go, our role was to advise on the right print materials, prepare the space and manage the installation from start to finish.

During our initial site visit, we spotted an issue that could easily have caused problems further down the line. The office walls had been painted using Valspar paint, which has a highly wipeable, stain-resistant finish. Great for keeping walls clean, but not so great when you want vinyl graphics to stay stuck to them.

Rather than simply applying the graphics and hoping for the best, we demonstrated the issue to the client, showing how the vinyl behaved before and after application. We then arranged for the walls to be repainted with a more suitable finish ahead of installation.

Once the new paint had fully dried, we returned to install the main feature wall, an impressive 7m x 2m branded graphic, along with window manifestations throughout the office.

For the feature wall, we specified a hi-tack Artisan wall film with a subtle canvas-style texture. As well as giving the finished graphic a more premium appearance, the textured surface helps disguise some of the natural lumps, bumps and imperfections found on painted walls. Thanks to the preparation beforehand and choosing the right material for the job, the installation went smoothly and produced a clean, professional finish.

The refresh continued outside and into the reception area. We supplied and installed new car park signage, along with a bespoke reception sign manufactured from white acrylic, featuring the printed SCG logo and mounted using stand-off fixings to create a smart, dimensional finish.

It’s a good example of why successful branded environments are about more than simply printing the artwork. Understanding the surface, choosing the right materials and preparing everything correctly before installation can make all the difference between graphics that simply look good on day one and a finished space that continues to represent the brand properly long after we’ve left.
